Man Beaten After Failed Gun Attack on Turkish Party Leader

Leader of Bulgaria's ethnic Turkish Party Ahmed Dogan escaped assassination when a man jumped on the stage during conference and pointed a gas pistol at the politician's head. No shots were fired and the 25-year-old attacker Oktai Enimehmedov was immediately wrestled to the ground by guards and party members. The man was also armed with two knives. Party Chairman Ahmed Dogan later resigned during the conference.
